District Events

An important part of the job of a trustee is to be connected, both within the schools, as well as within the community. Below is a sampling of events in which I have participated over the years.

Attend all Board Meetings and Executive Sessions (regular or special called meetings)
Attend all Work Sessions during the year
Served on Audit Committee and met with External Audit Firm, both pre-audit and post-audit, as well as quarterly with the Internal Auditor
Meetings with administration
All superintendent search committee and special called meetings
Tours of 4 high schools (outside PISD) in Texas to better understand project-based learning and implementation of 21st-century learning skills to enhance understanding regarding the Academy Visioning work
Academy Visioning Committee meetings during the planning stages
4th of July Parades
Numerous concerts and performances by Plano ISD students in band, choir, orchestra, theatre, and visual art
