Board Liaison Positions

City of Plano - attend quarterly meetings with Council members and attend city functions, such as State of the City Address and Joint Board/Council Meeting.

City of Richardson - maintain an ongoing communication with city leaders, including council representatives, city manager and mayor. Attend various city functions, such as State of the City Address and Education Day.

Richardson Chamber of Commerce - Member of Education and Workforce Committee 2018 - 2024. Ex Officio member Board of Directors. Helped plan iDream event which provides RISD sixth grade students access to professionals in eight career clusters and brought the program to Plano ISD known as "Find Your Future." Panel Moderator for three virtual sessions, reaching approximately 200 students.

Plano Council of PTAs - Served seven years; maintained an ongoing communication with Plano Council of PTA board members, including President; attended all Council meetings, Delegate meetings, and special events hosted by the Council. Provided a summary of every school board meeting in a way to meet the needs of PTA members so they were informed of District activities. My goal was to relate pertinent information to members with the goal to explain and clarify board action, such as changes in policies (e.g., GPA and class rank), legislative priorities, changes to feeder patterns, or building improvements. An informed PTA means stakeholders at each campus are informed.

Head Start Program - Served for the years 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2018. Attended all Policy Council meetings in accordance with federal guidelines and related pertinent information about school board meetings to parents on Policy Council. Represented the Board at federal monitoring protocol audits in 2015 and 2018. Received 2-hour federal training on Head Start Performance Standards in 2017.
